CAMBODIA - 6 NIGHTS / 7 DAYS

 



 

Day 1: Arrival to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Visit the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866. View Silver Pagoda, which is made up of 5000 silver tiles, Solid Gold Buddha encrusted and weighing 90 kilograms and a small 17th century Emerald and Baccarat Crystal Buddha. Enjoy a joint Sunset Cruise on the Mekong and Tonle Sap Rivers. Overnight at Phnom Penh.



 

Day 2: Visit the Killing fields of Choeung Ek(Former orchard and mass grave of 2.5 million victims of the Khmer Rouge - killed between 1975 and 1979), followed by visit to Toul sleng Prison (1975), Notorious Tuol Sleng Museum, Russian Market (Psah Tuol Thom Pong).Later visit National Museum (1917), Wat Phnom Temple, Phnom Penh’s namesake. Overnight at Phnom Penh.

Day 3: Departure from Phnom Penh and Arrival to Siem Reap for Temple Tour. Visit the Roluos Group Temples (large, permanent temples built by the Khmers) - Preah Ko Temple (late 9th century), Bakong temple (largest and of the Roluos group temples) and Lolei temple. Later visit Prasat Kravan Temple (Reddish brick sculptures), Srah Srang (The Royal Baths), Banteay Kdei (Citadel of Chambers), Eastern Mebon (10th Century - guarded by Stone figures of harnessed elephants) and the Pre Rup (Mountain Temple). Overnight at Siem Reap.



 

Day 4: Visit Siem Reap: WORLD ONE OF THE WONDERS - ANGKOR VAT. Angkor Wat’s five towers symbolize Meru’s five peaks. Visit Bayon Temple (unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara), Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Sunset at Angkor Wat. Overnight at Siem Reap.

Day 5: Siem Reap: Temple tour to Takeo, Thommanon, Chau Say Tevoda and Ta Prohm. Afternoon, visit Preah Khan Temple (built by King Jayavarman VII) and Neak Pean (a fountain) and the temple of Ta Som. Overnight at Siem Reap.



 

Day 6: Siem Reap: Visit the floating village of Chong Khneas. Boat Trip on the Tonle Sap Lake (Great Lake -one of the largest in Asia). Visit to “Les Artisans d'Angkor - Chantiers Ecoles”of Siem Reap and spend time at leisure at a local market.

Day 7: Departure from Siem Reap
