GUYANA - 13 NIGHTS / 14 DAYS

 

Day 1: Arrival at Georgetown, Guyana. Enjoy rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Day trip to Kaieteur and Orinduik Falls in a small twin propeller plane. Overnight stay in Georgetown.


 

Day 3: Travel to Annai. Overnight Stay in Iwokrama River Lodge near Essequibo river.

Day 4: Turtle mountain- A boat to reach the base of the mountain along the Essequibo river to hike up the Turtle mountain. In the afternoon, a boat trip to the Kurupukari Falls to see Amerindian Petroglyphs. Visit Fair View, the only Amerindian village. Overnight stay at Iwokrama.

Day 5: Iwokrama Wildlife spottingJaguars and birds like Rufous Throated Antbird, collared puffbird, rufescent tiger heron, Guianan Cock of the rock etc. are found here. Overnight stay at the Atta Rainforest Lodge.

Day 6: Explore the Rainforest around Iwokrama – Explore the jungle from atop the Canopy Walkway and walking around the rainforest.

Day 7: Explore the Surama village, visit the Amerindian Community, explore the Surama wildlife.

Day 8: Walk to the Savannah and climb Surama mountain. Check for macaws and Howler monkeys. In the afternoon, walk to the Burro Burro river and take a boat trip to observe the giant river otters, tapirs, tyras and spider monkeys. Overnight stay in Surama Eco Lodge.


Day 9: Return to Annai. View the Lofty Jabiru storks on the way.

Day 10: Wildlife spotting and transfer to Karanambu Ranch – Hike along the Panorama Trail along the mountains. Take a boat trip from Ginep Landing on the Rupununi river on the way to Karanambu ranch, watch the giant otters, wild river otters, the black caiman and the nocturnal birds. Also watch the Victoria Regia water lilies bloom. Overnight stay in Karanambu Ranch.

Day 11: Explore the Rupununi region – Watch the large colony of boat billed herons and several species of egret. Overnight stay in Karanambu Ranch.





 

Day 12: Discover the wildlife of the savannah Stay at Caiman House Field Station.

Day 13: Travel to Georgetown and visit Square of the Revolution, Botanical Gardens, Castellani House, St. Andrew’s Kirk, St. George’s Cathedral, Guyana National Museum, Promenade Gardens, Walter Roth Museum of Anthropology, Georgetown Seawall Bandstand

Day 14: Departure from Guyana
